Our client is a leading food company that is looking to bring on board a talented Product Developer for their facility in the Vaughan area. In this exciting new position, you will take a lead role in idea conception to finished production. This is a great opportunity to be a key stakeholder in a growing company that invests in its employees.
What we are looking for you to do:
Research, formulation and development of new products within timelines including; basic costing, processing requirements, SOPs and specifications
Develop component elements to be manufactured
Construct new product samples
Manage ingredient functionality and recipe formulation within processing parameters
Source new and innovative ingredients
Prepare and present samples and specifications
Provide for the design and development of ingredient, product and packaging specifications
Provide for on floor test, trial and production plans
Develop analytic methods and control techniques for raw materials and finished goods
Ensure that the plant process recipes and specifications produce optimum product quality and efficiency including the initiation and direction of troubleshooting activities when the need arises
Investigate, report and make recommendations on technical issues which may impact the business.
Provide technical support to external and internal customers (Customers, Sales, QA and Ops)
The ideal candidate will have:
Product Development experience with a minimum 3 years in food manufacturing
Experience with taking products through idea concept, prototyping, trialing and commercialization in a semi-automated, high speed environment
Degree in Food Science or related science
