Ember, the new guilt-free biltong brand is adding a new ‘shot’ format to the range from next month. The 16g mini packs contain 10g protein and offer bite-sized slices of biltong in an on-the-go format, a first for the Biltong and Jerky category. All Ember products are sugar-free, gluten-free, low in calories and available in two flavours; Original and Chilli.


In a major win for the brand, it has also secured three national supermarket listings with Ocado, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose for the full range after just six months in the market. The shots will launch in 212 Sainsbury’s stores from 8th April followed by 297 Waitrose stores from 25th with the bigger 30g bags launching in the snacking aisle in 270 Waitrose (30th April) and Sainsbury’s (July). Ocado will be listing the full range from 30th April.


Ember has seen phenomenal success since it launched in October 2017, with sustained revenue growth of 65% month on month. Not only has it become the No.1 meat snack brand on Amazon, but by July will have more than 3,000 distribution points in the UK, (including key accounts such as Brewdog and Musclefood and by the end of 2018 they are expecting to have sold 1.5 million bags of Biltong.
