Supplying multiple retailers, as well as further food manufacturers, our client is a fast-growing snack foods and ingredients business, enjoying an outstanding reputation for quality and innovation. As part of their growth, they are looking for a bright enthusiastic graduate who wants a career in NPD.
Key Accountabilities
Follow the NPD delivery process from concept to launch ensuring that all steps are completed and accurately documented
Formulate innovative product concepts in line with internal or customer briefs
Understand product portfolio and operational processes
Prepare and co-ordinate product samples
Maintain a clean, well-stocked and organised NPD kitchen
Documentation completion, including specifications, recipes, standard operating procedures and questionnaires
Build and maintain a network of contacts and good relationships with suppliers. Utilise these resources and expertise to supplement and optimise product development.
Communicate with customers regarding projects and ensure that projects are seen through to completion
Proactively seek out NPD opportunities and ideas that will enhance business performance and complement customer strategies
Conduct internal and external taste panels as part of the research and development process
Continually review the market. Benchmark products to ensure the offering remains current, competitive and of high quality
Maintain awareness of new, innovative ingredients, raw materials, suppliers and relevant market trends to enable the development of 'first to market' products
Contribute to continuous improvement by putting forward ideas that might improve quality, efficiency and profitability of the business as a whole
Maintain Food Safety and Health & Safety Standards
Personal Profile
This role is ideal for a recent graduate who is looking for their first NPD job or an experienced Chef with a food science background who is looking to work in food manufacturing.
• Previous food NPD experience would be a benefit, a university placement for example
• Food product experience within ingredients, snacks or similar would also be an advantage.
• Highly organised, have good IT skills plus excellent attention to detail.
• A passion for food, consumer trends and cooking is essential!
• This is a Monday to Friday role based in West London
• You will need to provide proof that you are currently eligible to work in the UK
